About Indian Creek (MO)

Indian Creek lies on the northern banks of Mark Twain Lake. It is the largest campground on the lake with 215 standard campsites, plus additional non-electric and tent-only sites. The lake is named for the beloved writer and humorist, Mark Twain, who was born just south of the lake in Florida, Missouri.

Would like to see more disability campsites and trails. I had a difficult time navigating in a wheelchair on rock in campsite.

We love Indian Creek, but....the ticks were HORRIBLE! We were picking ticks off all week...and still when we got home! We had never experience this before at this camp site. We did use spray....we had a 5 year old, 18 month old, and 4 adults.

DONT PARK IN THE GRASS OR GRAVEL. Be sure to have a small enough car to park on the blacktop and dont plan to bring a boat cause there in no room to it at the camp

Campsite was well kept. Restroom facilities were clean. Will be going back! We camped in a RV and had family tent camp over the weekend and the site accommodated both easily.

  • The hike-in tent sites are available mid-May to mid-September
  • The west boat ramp is open year-round
