About Indian Creek (MO)

Indian Creek lies on the northern banks of Mark Twain Lake. It is the largest campground on the lake with 215 standard campsites, plus additional non-electric and tent-only sites. The lake is named for the beloved writer and humorist, Mark Twain, who was born just south of the lake in Florida, Missouri.

The only complaint I have is that people be more courteous of their neighbors please turn your outside lights out at night are At least dim, and also pick up your doggie litter this is coming from a pet owner

We are anxious to return to your campground. My favorite spot is temporarily closed but we are looking forward to coming back in the spring. The grounds are kept up and everything is so clean and beautiful. Online reservations isn’t senior friendly but the guy I talked to at the Monroe City campground was very patient!!

Have camped here several times in recent and past years. Our favorite place to go. Very pleasant and friendly campground hosts. Love the shady sites plus the quiet time and very peaceful. A great place to go for relaxation. Also, facilities are kept clean.

The camp ground was mostly set up for RVs. It would be nice if sites good for tent camping were identified on the reservation map. The bathrooms were Ok but could have been cleaner given that we came in at the top of the weekend. The access to the lake and marina were great. Otherwise there are no near by services. Bring everything you will need.

  • The hike-in tent sites are available mid-May to mid-September
  • The west boat ramp is open year-round
