We always have a great time at Ray. Was disappointed only by the beach being closed the first week of September. The weather was perfect for swimming but no place to swim.

For an older guy who in his younger days would often go off into the wilderness alone and camp in the rough, having access to the excellent facilities here has been wonderful. You need to understand that this is an old fisherman/outdoorsman whose camping "rig" is a Toyota Prius C! ( the compact version of the model) and who has been delighted to find the clean and well maintained restroom/shower facilities virtually deserted since so many here have big RV's or some other self-contained camper and primarily use their own. Talk about feeling pampered! To me this is luxurious camping!
I camped at Cedar Ridge #151 for the last six days of its 2021 season, but after getting back home couldn't wait to return. (I'm typing this while sitting at the picnic table of Little Blue Stem's campgrounds site #48 at Ray Behrens just two days later! This has quickly become the perfect place to call my base camp as I have a few more of my crazy adventures. I'm already dreaming up what I can do here next season! Was thinking of buying a kayak and launching from the boat ramp and… oh! the fun I'll be having next season!
I would like to give a huge "Thank You" to all the friendly staff, management and maintenance personnel involved with this awesome place. I'll be back!

Need better internet service, we tried it and could not get connected, we did call and was refunded our money. Over all very nice, love the sites, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the excellent service from the workers.

Stayed at the Cedar Ridge campground. One of three sites inside Ray Behrens Corps of Engineers complex. Cedar ridge is quiet, remote. Electric but no water hookups. Hydrants every third camp site or so. Other two federal areas had full hook ups for rv's.My problem is lake access. You could see lake after leaves fall, I guess. I don't usually need a launch for my canoe, but access to lake from campsite is very steep and slippery from gravel. Hard to stay upright by yourself. Damn near impossible with a canoe on your shoulders.
Second gripe was shutting down beach access after Labor Day. There are no lifeguards supplied during summer, so why shut down the only non muddy area for swimming? It was 90+ degrees.

First time we have camped there in 30 years. First class facilities. Large spread out camp sites. Will definitely be back.
