What Guests Are Saying
Sutton Bluff Recreation Area is praised for its great campground, especially for ATV enthusiasts, with direct access to trails and a beautiful natural setting. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the respectful behavior of fellow campers, despite some issues with facilities and the absence of a camp host. While there are concerns about maintenance and missing amenities like a wastewater dump, overall, the area remains a favored spot for camping and outdoor activities.

Great campground, especially for atv riders. You can access trails from camp.
Electricity available at some sites, but no wastewater dump, unfortunately. No camp host, but campers have been well-behaved in my experience.

Even tho the gov’t was shut down, somehow all the bathrooms were supplied and clean and we wanted for nothing! Thank you to whoever went above and beyond to make our groups experience wonderful!

We stayed in group site 15 and it was excellent! It's the only site in the campground where you won't see or hear your neighbors. Other sites are nice and not too terribly close together. Site 13 had the quickest river access with a path through the woods right to the beach. Site 15 has a path to the river but it leads straight to the water with a short drop off form the trail. Vault toilet restrooms were clean and good enough. Highly recommend for campers who love to walk the river and hang by the water. I DO NOT recommend taking the gravel road that google maps suggests, unless you have a 4wd vehicle. The paved road by the sutton bluff sign is a longer but a nice drive in.

Camp ground grounds have noticeably declined without a host. Fire pits are full of ash and trash on the regular. No one there to quiet the rowdy crowds past quiet time or even just lack of respect for fellow campers at all times of the day. 50amp outlet is upside down on site 4 making it very awkward to plug in.
