What Guests Are Saying
Viola is a highly praised campground known for its beauty, cleanliness, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among RV campers. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities, friendly hosts, and enjoyable activities like fishing and kayaking. While there were some concerns about restroom accessibility and a few issues with park management, overall experiences have been positive, with many planning to return in the future.

Viola COE Campground never ceases to amaze us. We camp there every year on our return trip to Missouri. I was a little apprehensive about comments on the flooding in June and what damage may have occurred. Guess what. the crew at Viola had the park looking better than ever. The host guided us to see the walls where the water mark was..... wow...... Great Job Viola staff. We will be back.

We have camped at several COE parks and Viola was the first one that we felt was not picked up on a daily basis, we noticed trash in the play area and along the road way. Campsites we not cleaned after campers would leave, restrooms and showers were not necessarily clean especially considering that we are in the midst of COVID 19, trash cans in restrooms were not dumped on a daily basis even while the custodian made numerous trips around the camp on his ATV. Driving thru the camp with your rv was a bit of a trick with all the trees close to the narrow road and in campsites. Realizing that camping is a nature outing, some cedar trees need to be removed.

This is probably the worst experience we've had at a COE. I get that COVID is an issue, and I get that Table Rock is way over it's banks. But I have never been to one where the "guard shack" is not manned during daytime hours. Like the only time I saw someone in it was Saturday when they stopped me asking me if I was going to the private marina, other than that people were coming and going as they pleased. the loop we are on is normally a one way loop, but due to flooding it wasn't. That was such an issue because people couldn't wait for us to back our 42 foot rig in on a 90 degree turn and were rude to us, another one was rude while I was trying to get our boat parked. The swim beach was closed because it was under water and some day use folks decided that it was acceptable to use the very small boat ramp as their swim area. I'm trying to navigate the boat trailer down the water with children all over the place. Hubs, in the boat did make a comment to the parents, and they stated "she's fine tell her to keep going." He responded with "If I can't see them she sure can't as they are behind the boat." We will never be back to this one

This is an awful site to get into. It has a severe slope causing our hitch to drag along with our camper bumper & stabilizer to drag. Not only is it an awful slope, it is a 90 degree turn to get into the spot. It needs to be redone for access to this spot. It is a beautiful site in regards to mature trees for shade and lake access. It took over an hour to even get in there. I have a phone call placed to corp. to let them know. When the camper was off, my husband backed up and the hitch hit the slope and bent the frame to the truck. My husband had to leave to have it fixed on Saturday morning or we wouldn't be able to pull the camper home. Simple camping trip cost us a lot out of pocket!

I would have preferred a call that the water was still to high for swimming activities.
