What Guests Are Saying

Hawker Point is a beautiful campground with stunning views of the lake and well-maintained facilities, making it a favorite for families and outdoor enthusiasts. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While some sites may be small and crowded, and there have been issues with check-in times and a boil order, the overall experience remains positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

If it wasn’t for the campground hosts this would have been a five star trip. We showed up a few hours before check in, there was no one at the campsite so we began to set up. The park host then pulled up and told us we couldn’t park there without a reservation, I confirmed we had a reservation and pulled it up on my phone. He then told us we couldn’t set up until check in time. We apologized and told him that everywhere else we’ve been had allowed us to set up early if there was no one at the campsite. He then told us “we’re not them” and told us to pack up and come back in two hours. We offered to pay to come in early they refused and told us that if we wanted to come in even an hour earlier we would have to make a reservation for the whole day before that. The campsite itself was beautiful and we loved swimming right off the campsite but being forced to pack up and wait 2 hours just to comeback to check in was a huge stain on our trip.

This site was absolutely beautiful! The lake water is crystal clear and campgrounds were clean and well maintained. The sites are also pretty level. Unfortunately, the sites are extremely small and close together. When the person next door to you rolls over in the middle of the night, you are going to hear it. The sites next to me had multiple automobiles, around 10 people each, and several tents on the tiny areas. The campers were extremely vocal and enjoyed playing their music loudly. The ten o'clock "quiet hours" were certainly not respected on land nor water. It could have been a lovely visit but, it was simply too crowded and overall loud throughout the campground. It is a real shame but, I will probably not be returning to this campground.
