The People’s Creek upper campground is small but it does have full hook-up. It was challenging for my grandchildren to ride bikes because it has a lot of hills. But we still very much enjoyed camping here.

We stayed in site 6 Monday through Friday. Site listed at 50 ft and looked level in pictures but dropped off considerably in front. The worst thing is that poison ivy was Everywhere. When I say that it was on trees, in mowed areas around campsite and all along the roads. The picture showing the campsite showed a tree in back right. The green you see is not oak leaves but poison ivy. The most I have seen in any campground.

We were set up to camp in #27 but our hydrant had a leak below grade. So, we opted to move to #19. The whole campground is really nice. #19 was across from the bathroom and showers but it was quiet. It is also the only site with full hookups. What a joy to dump our tanks right at our site instead of having to use the dump station. What I really appreciated about this campground was that you saw a sheriff, park ranger, or the attendent very often. It was the park ranger that helped pick another site and took care of everything for us and even "comped" a night for us. It was a terrific experience overall and Lake Wappapello is beautiful!

At Lower Peoples Creek, site was clean and well maintained, excellent shade. Facility overall was also well maintained. Excellent beach near the campground ... very nice. Limited hiking trails but most are here for the lake activities.

Our site was not level enough to leave our trailer hooked up (to the motorhome). Sloped in before flattening out. However, campground was good, everything was operational. The Mingo U.S. Wildlife Preserve is worth the time.

Excellent area. Close to the lake, plenty of shade. Only negative is poor tv reception but that's not a problem for me. Beautiful well maintained area and close to the bathroom/shower house.

Bob was friendly and helpful, we only spent one night but the restrooms were clean. The water level was too high to exit so we had to turn around but Bob showed us where to do so.
