We booked online and got a super helpful email with everything we needed—directions, campground info, Wi-Fi password, rules, and even a bridge clearance warning at Exit 244 (“Canyon Access”). Since our rig stands tall at 13’ 6”, we played it safe and took the Hardy exit instead. Smooth sailing right to the park!
Camp hosts Jesse and Ronnie gave us a warm welcome and guided us into FHU Site 8. We did a bit of the ol’ RV shuffle to back in our 40’ 5th wheel (thanks to a small drop-off across the road), but with a few adjustments, we were in and leveled. The site was nice and long, with room to park across, and hookups were well placed—electric toward the back, water and sewer mid-site. Connectivity check: Verizon gave us 1 bar, T-Mobile 2 bars, and the campground Wi-Fi wasn’t too shabby (6.03 Mbps down / 1.05 up). But for streaming, our T-Mobile home internet saved the day with blazing 59.4 down. The bath house and laundry area were clean and convenient, with 2 washers and 2 dryers ($2 each). There’s a fenced dog area too, great for traveling pups. The real magic here is the setting—nestled in a peaceful valley that muffles I-15, this place is a nature-lover’s dream. We spotted deer casually strolling through the campground and bighorn sheep doing their thing up on the rocks. The park is spacious, beautifully laid out, and refreshingly quiet—most folks are out fishing during the day and resting easy at night. No playground means fewer kids, so if you’re looking for tranquility, this is your spot. After over 300 campgrounds in the past 7 years, Prewett Creek easily lands in our top 10. And Jesse and Ronnie? Top-tier hosts—friendly, helpful, and genuinely great people. We’ll definitely be back, and next time, we’re staying longer!

Excellent three week experience here. We e-biked to Cascade 10 miles away and e-biked the other direction up the old Highway (very few cars) and saw a bear. We kayaked multiple times from Wolf creek bridge to Craig, Craig to mid-canyon, Upper Dearborn to Prewett Creek, and Prewett Creek to Pelican Point. Went to the rodeo in Cascade, and Costco in Helena. The Cascade Farmers Market was more intimate than Great Falls and had excellent local produce. Fishing was an experience and just loved the Missouri River. We finally saw one big horn sheep with a couple days to go. Renny the camphost was very kind and accommodating with everything including fishing advice. I would definitely stay again.

A decent campground with *abundant* wildlife to view. It sits in a valley and the surroundings are nice. If you're a fishing person, access to the Missouri River across the street (with boat ramp) is great.

The only reason I docked a star is that on arrival 30 minutes before check-in time, we were greeted by a staff member whose first and only words were, "You're early!" in an irritated tone.

Regardless, especially if you're into fishing, I'd recommend this place.

I was a late arrival, so I didn't get to fully enjoy my stay. Booking here was super easy and getting here wasn't hard either. Just a half hour away from Great Falls. Nestled in a little valley with rock cliffs surrounding the rv Park. The park has around 22 full service lots . The wahroom was clean (always a bonus). There's coin operated laundry on site. A perfect spot for fishing seeing the park is only a minute from the Missouri River. There's a fly shop nearby as well as restaurant/bar. I enjoyed my stay other than the two big white dogs that roamed free into the park. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my dog leashed outside as they were circling out lot. It was getting close to bedtime but I wanted to relax outside. They were building a fence along the side I was staying at so there were materials around, but at least they are working on a solution to the dogs. Depending on the route I travel into Montana maybe I'll get to fully enjoy a full day and night here in the future.
