An overall good campground.

Beautiful, well maintained campground tucked in the forest. Sites are fairly private and there are clean conveniently placed restrooms. Beautiful and rugged areas to explore close by. $15 per night is a great price.
Bring cash or check because although you can pay online there is no cell service to do so once you arrive.

A typical, but nice USFS campground. There are two loops, A & B. Each loop has 12 sites. The first six sites for each loop are reservable by using recreation.gov. There are two vault toilets and two "non-threaded" spigots in each loop.
Depending on the site, there is more or less vegetation between sites. Most sites are fairly level and not much in the way of overhead obstacles. We enjoyed the "nature trail." There was a guide for it when we visited in August, 2025, although it could stand to be updated as some of the details described at various stops were no longer valid.

We enjoyed the interpretive trail. We even found some Huckleberries! The campground was private and the sites were larger than we needed. I'd totally stay again!

Great campground in the trees. Decent space between campsites. Clean. Creek near the campground. In the forest but close to the interstate. Reasonably close to the Hiawatha bike trail. The camp host had wood for us to use for the evening.

They do offer firewood free of charge. Camp host was great - very laid back. The road is paved but the parking spots are not. The sites are fairly open and flat, yet still shaded by trees. Would work well for tent or RV camping. The area is beautiful, and the sites are not packed too tightly.

The campgrounds are clean and well cared for. There are various activities within only a few miles of the campground, i.e. biking, hiking, etc. It would be helpful if the reservations were updated more than every three days to acknowledge who will be staying there for a particular evening.

Great little campground. Nice, private, well laid out campsites. Very quiet and the pine forest smells amazing at night. The camp host does a great job at keeping the pit toilets clean. Has two community water spigots.
Definitely keeping this campground in mind when we come through this area of Montana again.
