Jay and Thea are exceptional hosts. I felt bad that so many reserved sites sat empty due to no shows and feel that booking one or two nights of a weekend should not be permitted. Reservations should be 7 day blocks

This was our first time camping at Rexford Bench, but we'd certainly camp there again. Large sites, very updated clean campground with a lot of space. We loved the walking trails and lake access, though we weren't able to use it as much as we wanted since we were there for a baseball tournament. Highly recommend this peaceful retreat if you're looking for a place away from crowds.

it was hard to find the campground. No water hookups or elect. at campsite. Had to get directions from another camper to find the Dump & water station. Water had no connection ends for the water tant to be filled. Took an hour to get the siphon on the camper to work so we could get water. No camp host around for the first few hours we were there, just a sign about where they might be found. Our reservations were for 1 night at 1 site and 2 nights at another. All that was available at the time of booking over a month in advance. Not wanting to move and reset up we want to talk to host to see if they had a 1st come 1st serve available to work out a site we could stay 3 nights in. After our 3 hour setup we found the host. Very nice and went out of their way to keep us in the site we were already in.
When we arrived the toilets, showers, public parking, along with the beach being closed.
The best thing about the campsite is the campers we met and the 2 boys from Canada. Took the boys rockhounding, shared knowledge with them. They were a blast. We brought home some of their rocks they found, home with us to slice and tumble and we will mail them the finished products.
Campsite is large and pretty. Best to visit when they are not going into construction. No discounts for the lack of services included at the time of our reservations. They need much better signs everywhere. Getting lost isn't fun when pulling a camper.
I would not stay there again.

We love the campground with spacious camp sites. The limited beach access because of construction was the negative. The wildfire smoke moved in which affected our experience too but that couldn't be helped.
