About West End Tent and Trailer Campground

Reservations are only allowed on the day of arrival. Overnight occupany is required. Booking a campsite and not arriving will result in a No-Show per the rules and regulations. This location is not staffed by gate attendants. Check in/out with the camphost or via text.   West End Tent and Trailer was historically a first come first serve campground. We have mirrored this with the ability to claim your campsite with an online reservation. You can only claim a campsite today for up to 14 nights from today. No advanced reservations are allowed.    West End Tent and Trailer Campground is nestled on a hill on the north shore of Fort Peck Lake. The campground features 13 campsites with electrical hook-ups as well as an overflow section. West End Tent and Trailer tends to be quieter than our main campground and is popular with fishermen thanks to its proximity to a few boat ramps.   Fort Peck Dam, which impounds Fort Peck Lake is the first dam built in the upper Missouri River Basin. The area surrounding Fort Peck was first charted by Lewis and Clark in 1804, and the pristine natural condition of the river and surrounding area awed the renowned explorers. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the Fort Peck project in 1933, thousands of people from all over the country migrated to Montana during the midst of the Great Depression in hopes of earning a living. Today, Fort Peck Lake is a sportsman's paradise with excellent fishing, wildlife viewing and other countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

What Guests Are Saying

West End Tent and Trailer Campground offers beautiful views of Fort Peck Lake, clean and well-maintained restrooms and showers, and friendly, helpful camp hosts. Many guests appreciate the electric hookups and spacious sites, although some sites are not level and there is a need for tree trimming in certain areas. While there are some minor inconveniences, such as a lack of on-site dumping facilities and occasional road construction, visitors generally find it a great place to camp and look forward to returning.

The camp host was a great guy, unfortunately the campground needs some maintenance in the form of tree trimming. Those with higher clearance rvs will have to watch the limbs to prevent damage to their rv.

Nice camp ground with very nice shower house and restrooms. Trees need trimming in camper areas really bad. Had a couple branches rub on my 5th wheel there entire stay.

The campground is located at beautiful Fort Peck Lake. Although you don’t have access to the water, you have wonderful views.
The only downfall to this campground is lack of dumping facility but you are able to use the dump Station down by the Downstream campground. It really wasn’t a hassle to go down there and dump on my way out. However, if you were staying there longer and had to dump multiple times, it would be a pain.
Also, the map doesn’t take you to the campground. From the highway, you need to turn on Duck Creek Road, as if you’re going to the marina. Go straight passed the turn into the marina. Then, it will be on your left.
The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Campsites seem close together so I picked one with lots of trees. Very nice bathroom and showers.
