About Hunters Spring Cabin

Hunters Spring provides a serene escape in the mountains of central Montana. The cabin is open year-round and is secured with a combination lock. It is a prime destination for hunting, hiking, off-highway vehicle riding, snowmobiling and cross country skiing enthusiasts. The cabin is a great launching point for whatever type of recreation you wish to do. Hunters Spring Cabin is a must on your next destination plans! Summer access is via a gravel Forest Service 274 up to the cabin. The combination for the cabin will also open the gate to the driveway of the cabin. Access in the winter months is by snowmobile, skis or snowshoes only. The road is not plowed and not open to wheeled vehicles between December 1 - (generally) April 15. Please contact Belt Office at 406-236-55111 or the Harlowton Office at 406-632-4391 for more information on road conditions.

Icy roads going in, wish there was a better route as the hill and corner where gate is can get terrible, love the cabin and fact there is a running spring near by for water. Excellent place to stay no matter the season, love taking snowmobiles in to camp from 1st of December till end of April, fishing in near by creek is fun. Tons of atv and sxs trails for summer fun. 3 full bedrooms, cute propane lights and plenty of places to explore

Peaceful, 3 bedrooms -so room for everyone, Cows do make there way by the cabin and like to make conversions with other in the herd in the next field. So you may hear some noises from time to time. Stove and refrigerator in the kitchen, propane lighting (instructions by the journal) Also someone left extra sheets and pillows in one closet, dressers are in the bedrooms also

The couch and love seat have seen better days( you sink to the floor), there is a table and chairs also. The mattresses were nice, have had worse hotel ones.

Plenty of room, the firewood was well stocked. Window screens need attention.

Wonderful experience. Our family skied the 5.5 miles to the cabin. It was well stocked and warm. Our only complaints for the stay were that there is only 1 pot holder and the dust pan is broken.
