The wood stove was pretty smoky. Great access to over 200 miles of snowmobile trails. Loved the chopped wood in the shed!

A large tree branch broke and is on the roof of the cabin and punched a hole through the roof. The handle on the refrigerator is about to fall off. The toilet seat is loose and about to fall off.

The cabin is in a beautiful setting! The cabin itself is comfortable--we appreciated the electricity for the stove and lights. We have been here before and will return.

Nice cabin to stay in. It is right along the highway, so there is the noise from that. There's a forestry service road right behind it too with ATVs riding on it. We walked the forestry service road almost to the top. We hiked Deadman cross country ski trail. It is straight up the mountain and isn't marked well after it crosses the forestry service road. There's a lot of debris in the trail too. But it was overall a nice hike and we saw deer on that hike. We also had a deer in the yard at the cabin. We heard a mouse or rat chewing on wood in the night, but not sure if it was outside or inside. Never saw any rodents or evidence of them in the cabin. There's chew marks on the outside of the window frames where they try to get in. The mattresses don't fit the frames but comfortable mattress.

This is a great little cabin. I stayed there for three days this summer and really enjoyed it. I finished the Rick and the reservoir. It’s easy to get into White Sulphur Springs to soak in the Hot Springs.

Still lots of snow glad we were prepared. The last tenets did not leave it like it should be. So we chopped lots of wood for the next person and spent hours cleaning and snow removal. Also no TP. The cabin took a long time to heat up as we were warned. I liked the mattresses, they were good quality and not the noisy ones. The pack rat is also pretty cute. He lives in the wood shed.

If it’s going to be really cold you might want an electric heater for the bunk room.
No one had been there for a few days and it took a couple of hours for the wood stove to warm the place up.
It is so great to just Slide Over to the ski area, 5 minutes trip back to the cabin!

The cabin smelled like old chronic weed smoke, which is nasty. Nothing against THC, but that old smoke smell is nasty.
The sign about a dangerous disease you can get from breathing dried rat urine in old cabins was really off putting too. The cabin was clean for what you can expect from an old rough rustic cabin. There were only single bunk beds and we only stayed one night so we just slept in our bed in our van. The location was beautiful - the stars, the quiet, the dense woods, everything else was so cool. The bathroom was a really nice sturdy concrete pit toilet and the concrete was really beautiful shape and colored to look like a cabin with stone foundation.
