Beautiful campground and we usually go at least once a year but this year the road once you enter the Custer National forest is full of potholes. Not a pleasant experience.

The campsite itself is beautiful. Almost every site is spacious with a different view. We were by the creek, we had friends up by the woods both are equally nice
Beware of the camp hosts they are a piece of work!! They will keep coming into your campsite bothering you all hours of the day telling you they need money (not card only cash) even though we had paid online they claim our second vehicle wasn’t paid for, according to the receipt it was!!
We didn’t have exact change so not only did we pay again for a vehicle we paid for online we over paid them and received no change back. Something is very fishy about this couple! I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re running a scam!!
They don’t respect boundaries either. Most people camp to get away from it all, namely other people. They will hassle you not only for money but the way you are parked or if someone is visiting you for a couple hours, they want to know how long the vehicle will be there
My son moved his car up by the trail head so we could hike, they said it was a federal offense just to move the car for an hour to the trail head. They are very poor camp hosts

Did not have a problem with smoke from campfires because campsites are spaced out and large. Beautiful area with great hikes that are very close by. I would go there again

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
