What Guests Are Saying
Douglas Creek Cabin is a charming and well-maintained retreat, offering a peaceful atmosphere and clean, fully stocked accommodations. Guests appreciate the cozy fire ring by the creek and the warm stove, making for a comfortable stay even in winter conditions. While some find the bunk beds a bit springy, the overall experience, including opportunities for skiing and exploring, makes it highly recommended for a scenic getaway.

Went to the cabin in mid-January. I had to chain my truck up and could only get within one and a half miles due to snow. Used snowshoes to hike the remaining distance. The cabin was very clean and cozy. There was plenty of wood to get people through the winter. Didn't have service with Verizon wireless. I'm hoping to return again sometime in the summer.

BOOK NOW! Price going from $20 to $45 per night plus $8 fee next year.
The Pintler Ranger District is SUPER! They have supplied kitchen items to both Douglas Creek & Moose Lake cabins and have made improvements. Whoever is in charge is AWESOME!
Easy drive weather permitted in a car.
3G 1 Bar Verizon service at cabin but 2 Bar 4G up the hill by the fence.
Wood stove.
On porch there was a heavy metal grill and a small portable charcoal grill that somebody donated.
Two bunk beds but no ladders to climb if physically challenged. Perhaps use a chair for upper bunks.
A few games.
Nice dining table with 4 backed chairs but need to move the table if 4 people are sitting.
Fire pit with picnic table.
Lots of wood.
Nice creek nearby.
Locked gate for privacy.
Lots of forest roads to explore with super elevated views and grass covered peaks.
It seems most people that rent here truly take care of the cabin and many are older.
Nice non ADA vault pit toilet but boy it has the thinnest floor! Makes you wonder if you are going to fall through!
No sink sadly.
Bring fly traps during the summer.
A very enjoyable stay. Don't delay in reserving your stay at a mere $20 before it more than doubles next year.

We loved our one night at the cabin! It was easy to find, the weather was in the high 70's, played Sorry though we had to make up some rules because we couldn't remember and there were no instructions but still super fun sitting on the picnic table. The mattresses were bouncy but comfortable and thanks whoever left TP, paper towels and a stack of split wood. We left some matches and newspaper for the 'next' campfire which is so lovely next to the creek and to fall asleep to. I saw the notice that the price is increasing and I don't think that is a bad thing. I am in hospitality and $20 we paid I think was too low. I wish I did more homework to find some hiking trails but we had fun rambling around with the cows. Thank you! Next time we want to stay longer.

The cabin was clean and in a gorgeous/secluded location. It would have been nice to chat with a park ranger about the wildlife situation before checking in, but we might have missed them from the way we approached the cabin. We would absolutely enjoy staying here again!

The cabin is fantastic! We’ve stayed in many forest service cabins and this was by far one of our favorite stays! It’s clean, has basic amenities, it’s right next to the creek to cool off and not far from Philipsburg! The dirt road getting there is pretty well taken care of and a car could get to the cabin, no problem. The only rough part about this cabin is the outhouse which could definitely use some updates. Otherwise a wonderful cabin that we’re stoked to visit again.
