Nice CG and host...close to red lodge(was a nice town...hopefully they recover quickly) and beartooth highway...paved road to CG and one way loop inside..no cell service if that matters to you..moose in and around camp..next to river/creek...unfortunately river flooded and made a big mess...fortunately a ranger kicked everyone out of CG sunday night...we were in wyoming by midnight...thank you mr ranger/forest service.

Great place to hike, fish, and/or relax. Moose frequent the area adding to the charm. Camping during the week is best as Basin is very popular and can get crowded on the weekends.
The area does show a lot of use (and abuse) as many of the trees show scars from morons who feel they must carve the tree bark and strip branches. Please help protect and save our valuable natural resource!

The reservation process, campground and campsite were all fine, and would use them again.
However, the camp host did not manage the campground well. There were generators running all night. Food containers and cooking equipment were not stored at night in grizzly country. We had a pickup camper and did not leave anything at our site after the first night. When we got back to our site for the second night there was an open sign on our site, fortunately no one else had claimed our site.

Basin campground is a great place to go when you are trying to introduce little kids to the outdoors. It is close enough to Red Lodge and if anything goes wrong resources are minutes away. At the same time you are surrounded by opportunities for recreation to fit every experience level, from fishing at Wild Bill lake to tackling some of the more challenging trails. The campsite was clean and well maintained with some of the nicest camping facilities I have seen in a long time. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful and made it a very pleasant experience. Overall this is a great spot that we will be revisiting in the future

Great campground within easy driving distance. Repeat visitors. No cell phone coverage for Verizon, too many hills in the way. That is a good thing!
