About Lake Alva Campground

Lake Alva Campground is located on the North shore of Lake Alva, approximately 11 mi north of Seeley Lake, and offers visitors the chance to camp and enjoy activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.  The lake is home to a loon population and has protected nesting areas. The birds' mesmerizing calls can often be heard in the campground. All boats on Lake Alva must operate at a "no-wake" speed year-round.

What Guests Are Saying

Lake Alva Campground is praised for its beautiful, clean, and well-maintained facilities, offering a peaceful environment ideal for families and outdoor activities like kayaking. Campers appreciate the spacious sites and proximity to the serene lake, although some noted challenges with tent space and access to potable water. While there were minor issues with restroom maintenance and the presence of unleashed dogs, overall experiences have been positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Clean and well maintained campground. Particularly enjoyed the quiet of no power boats allowed on the lake. Far enough from the highway thatg the forest completely muffles noise. An excellent forest experience.

Truly enjoyed our stay here. Very quiet week days, not sure how busy the weekends get. Clean restrooms, clean camping spaces. Assuming all the piles of forest debris will be cleared at some point. I understand there was a big wind storm earlier in the year and these piles r from that event. The lake is a perfect kayaking spot; quiet and tranquil. We look forward to another trip to this beautiful spot.

Overall we had a great time! It is within walking distance of the lake or you can park by the water if you have any water crafts. Also a short drive to hiking spots (we went on The Glacier Slough Trail - about 3 mi round trip - it was great!). The campsites are fairly spread out in places and overall pretty quiet. The site we were at seemed like it was more meant for a rv or camper, not for a tent, and certainly not a large tent, although we made it work. The sites were well maintained. My main complaint would be the toilets - they smelled pretty bad and the host even said he wouldn't recommend using one of them. He said he has been trying to get them to come out and pump it but it hasn't been done yet. Also, all of the toilets ran out of toilet paper and one point and I had to bring my own. Despite these little things, I would definitely come back and recommend to others! Also, just be aware, there are mosquitoes.

Camp sites were clean and were spaced well from each other. Lots of trees. Clean bathrooms.

The outhouses got low on toilet paper and were not attended to for the three days that we were there. DOGS are a huge concern! They should be on a lease, which is not enforced so there were dogs everywhere - unleashed, but not too far from their owners. The boat ramp had wet dogs running up to us - seems people should be the priority.
