What Guests Are Saying
East Fork Cabin is praised for its cleanliness, rustic charm, and well-maintained facilities, making it a great retreat from city life. Guests enjoyed various outdoor activities like hiking and biking, and appreciated the improvements in electrical systems for RVs. While some noted the lack of electric lights in the pavilion and occasional mouse visitors, overall, the experience was very positive.

We spent three days with my son and his family. A great time was had by all. Our 7 year old grandson caught fish out of the creek that flows by the cabin and also on the Eastfork. It was enjoyable to sit under the eave of the wood shed and watch a thunderstorm roll through. It is a fantastic place for the kids to use their imaginations and run around safely. Who could forget the smores. Delicious!!

The usual forest service mice the first night, I trapped them, had no further trouble.
Secluded, quiet, stream close enough to throw a rock into from the front door.
Lots of deer in the meadow.
Ax and maul in the woodshed, with plenty of wood. Hatchet in the wood box.
Lots of cleaning supplies in the cabinet.
My thanks to the prior guests, that left the place spotless.

Loved the experience we had a great time! It was our first time staying in a cabin and it definitely was the best “camping” experience so far.

The Bitterroot NF and East Fork Cabin have become my favorite place to just relax for a few days. Just a couple hours away, and the most beautiful scenery you can ask for. It is very peaceful, private, and quiet. I can just sit by the river all day and chill out. Plenty of space to walk around without leaving the property. Now, if I could just get reservations again before the weather turns snowy, it is a popular place, so plan ahead! Enjoy!

From Sula, travel northwest on Highway 93 for less than a mile. Turn northeast (right) onto East Fork Road/County Road 472 and continue about 16 miles to the cabin. Maps may be purchased by calling the Darby-Sula Ranger District at 406-821-3913.
In the winter months (October through April), you may have to park at the gates and walk approximately 600ft. to the cabin. The road is usually plowed to the cabin but there are times it is not.
