Great campground; the cabins were wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. The camp hosts were very generous with their recommendations of the area. We will definitely return to this lovely spot right on the river!

As a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service, I have stayed at the Kootenai River Campground twice now, and it is easily one of my favorite spots to decompress. After long, grueling days on the line, coming back to a campground this meticulously maintained is an absolute lifesaver. The hosts, Chris and Marcey, are incredibly welcoming and truly understand the meaning of hospitality—especially for those of us working in the woods. The entire property is pristine, but the absolute highlight after a hard shift is the bathhouse. It is completely immaculate, always stocked, and boasts the cleanest hot showers you will ever find at a campground. The level sites make setting up effortless, and the private trail down to the Kootenai River is the perfect place to sit in an Adirondack chair, unwind, and watch the water. Between the peaceful river views and the well-stocked camp store, it has everything you need to recharge. I cannot recommend this place enough to fellow forestry crews and travelers alike. I will absolutely be back!

I love this campground. They are some great people. This place gets busy and when it does make sure to get reservations early. They have cabins, rv spots with hookups and they also have tent camping sites. The owners have worked incredibly hard to make this campground what it is today. They go above and beyond for their people.

We were in RV site #15 and had a wonderful stay! Chris and Marcey greeted us right as we pulled in. Chris showed us to our site making sure the rig was all situated. He even brought over an extra sun shade for our picnic table since we had a 3 & 5 yr old. The shop on site has wood, ice local beers and many other little things. Even bubbles for the kiddos! The playset was fantastic as was the sandbox. Kids loved them and all the sand toys, kitchen and small table there too. I loved how it had a fence around 3 of the 4 sides with seating in the shade for adults. If you leave your propane tanks, they will grab, fill & return (for a reasonable fee). Bathrooms were super clean and stocked with B&BW soaps, showers were clean and hot. Laundry room was 24/7, clean, fairly priced and had all machines working plus different sized ones. There was also a trail down to the river with benches and chairs at the river. Over the years guests have built up a little rock wall area under water to create a pool off the main flow of river which was great. Also very few if any mosquitoes!
For those who complained about road noise- there was a little. You are right off the highway, however with windows open every night, none of us had issues sleeping (including the kids).
10/10 recommend. Chris and Marcey were helpful, friendly to us and our chatty kids and run a great campground. We'll definitely be back on our next Montana adventure.

We had a great stay at the campground. Chris and Marion (I think I have that right) were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
The whole park is very clean, nice washrooms with great hot water rain showers.
Nice bonus with trailway to the river with chairs to enjoy the surroundings.
Thanks!!
