I really enjoyed my stay at Apgar campground, though I had some apprehension prior to my visit as I've never stayed in a National Park campground and I was concerned about hordes of people. The way the sites are laid out, in 5 different loops, make it seem much smaller. It really felt peaceful and uncrowded. The campground monitors/volunteers were very nice and super helpful. I used the shower in the A loop one time and it was just fine and the restroom near my site was very nice too. The site is very conveniently located with reasonably short walks or even shorter bike rides on a beautiful trail to both the visitor center and the park services area. I'd definitely stay at Apgar again.

We had a lovely stay at Apgar Campground. We loved how it was so close to the timed entrance, as we were able to easily gain access to The Going to the Sun Road.

Apgar was a great location within Glacier National Park. The road to get to the campground is off Going to the Sun Road which is right by the timed entrance area. We were able to drive to the Apgar lookout trailhead and back without needing a timed entrance. Apgar village has a gift shop, restaurant, and bike, kayak, and paddle board rentals. Lake McDonald lodge is a short drive. The rangers were helpful. We are tent campers and tend to be minimalists but feel more showers would be good (there are only 3 showers for the entire campground). We went whitewater rafting and the company was located 4 mi away from the campground.
