We had a great time at Apgar campground. It's walking distance to Lake McDonald, the Visitors Center and Apgar Village. It's a really big campground but it was very quiet. We got to do the Going to the Sun Road and it wasn't too busy. The restrooms did need some attention as the Women's bathroom closest to our campground was closed most of our stay. Reservation system needs major overhaul. Many reserved sites that remained empty for days. Pull thru campsites should only be for trailers and motor homes. Tents should not be allowed on the driveway for pull thru sites. Bathrooms are in need of a good cleaning and refreshing. Rust and corrosion everywhere.

We have always enjoyed our times at Apgar CG. Even though it is the largest CG in the park, our site is mostly screened from the adjoining sites. This is more or less true in other sites throughout the rest of the loops. The site we were in is the closest to the lake and we favor it over others.
