Great sites! We came later in the day, with no reservation. One of the parkrangers helped us out. We could drive the loops to look for a good campingspot. We got lots of information about the surroundings and the bear in the area.
Privacy is good in the spots, lots of green surrounding the campsites to give you just a little more privacy between the loops

Beautiful campground with easy access to the park. There were plenty of deer wandering throughout the park which made you feel more like you were in the middle of nowhere. Some of the driveways to the sites can be very unlevel, so keep that in mind if you have an RV.

While I had no reception in the park, all reservations editing needed to be done online so once you are on site you are stuck if you have any problems. Our campsite was so steep it didn't work with our trailer and the only solution the camp hosts could tell me is just book a second site, eat the cost, and boohoo. Trying to deal with Recreation.gov was the worst part of our entire trip.

This is the best N.P. in the system. Beautiful and never over crowded.

Very friendly camp hosts/rangers. The bike path that is dog friendly was a convenient beautiful walk. The picnic area offered beautiful views of the lake and a perfect spot for the dogs to swim. Food storage containers were convenient to store our grill in, we had one right at our campsite.
The deer were EVERYWHERE. Truly beautiful to see them laying down in the empty site next to us.
•rocky point trail, close to Apgar and it’s a beautiful hike over looking lake McDonald.
•old flathead river ranger station trail, beautiful scenic drive and hike with a wonderful overlook. We were to worried about bears to make it to the ranger station!
My ONLY complaint is that we were there for 8days and the showers were broken the entire time.

Apgar is a nice campground. The campsites have some privacy with good spacing between sites. There are very convenient water spouts and the bathrooms are clean with flush toilets. A few deer wander through the campground which is always magical. It is within easy walking distance to Apgar Village with a restaurant and stores and access to Lake McDonald. You can't see the lake from the campground. The one downside is that the campground is very close to the Going To The Sun Road and the traffic is constant and loud. The garbage trucks come through the campground at 7AM and and are VERY LOUD. Fish Creek campground, 3 mi down the road is MUCH quieter and a better choice, if you have a choice.
