A nice, but crowded, campground on the west side of Glacier and within walking distance of Lake McDonald and Apgar Village (the latter was very busy and crazy on Father’s Day weekend). You can do some short hikes but longer and more primitive hikes require a drive.
We camped at site C-123 first and it was awesome. It was a perfect pull through horseshoe site. Secondly, we stayed at D-162 which was not nearly as nice.
Obviously, if you visit you need your America the Beautiful pass. If you’re a senior, use your pass when booking a campsite for a 50% discount.
Apgar Village and West Glacier have supplies. For diesel, you need to do a short drive to Coram. There is also expensive diesel in St Mary’s if you drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Awesome spot and love the amenities. Short walk to nightly ranger programs at the amphitheater. Road noise can be mid but overall very peaceful!

The proximity to Apgar village, the visitor center, and Lake McDonald is fantastic.
If tent camping, I recommend beefier stakes you can hammer in. The pads can sometimes be hard to get stakes into by hand.
Definitely recommend hiking to Avalanche Lake!

Large campground, but each site had plenty of space. Quiet.
Nice to be able to get up and do activities early--We biked Going to the Sun road (NO ebikes!), and paddleboarded Lake MacDonald from Sprague Creek picnic area. Make sure to register your SUP at Apgar, and have your PDFs ready, too.

Our site was not suitable for our camper truck. There were many other sites available and Rec,com says we could change our site after arrival. Our camp host offered to help but neither he or I could change the site on rec.com. The site blocked off every campsite . There were well over 15 sites available.

Beautiful campground. Sites are private surrounded by tall trees. Bathroom in loop
B waa dated but clean and typical for most national parks. No soap provided. Water, bear bins and trash cans shared but easily accessible The Village is walking distance from all campground loops and provides mercantile and small restaurant, ice cream and coffee. Lovely place and being inside the park makes all the difference for easy access to trails and you cant beat the price.
