We met friends from Florida up there. We were in Loop D and they were a large group in Loop E. We stayed in a campervan in Site D 171. It wasn’t the best site for a campervan but we made it work, and we spent most of our time in Loop E with the group anyway. D171 is a pull-through, but with a 20 ft campervan , we had to back in going against the traffic flow in order to get level. It’s pretty tight. Also, the picnic table is pretty far away from where you park. There is a tent site, and the picnic table is closer to that. The bathrooms in the Loops were fine and clean. We all did make the trip to Loop A for showers. We tried to time it when there was no big line. Make sure to bring shower shoes! The showers are what they are! You’re showering in a large one-person stall with a couple of places to hang your clothes and towel, but everything is constantly wet. There are technically 3 showers, but only 2 were working in early September. We all got warning cards left a couple of times for having our Yeti coolers left out when we weren’t there, even though mine only had ice in it and they are bear-rated - so be aware that they are very serious about that. All in all, we had a great time. The campground is clean and well-maintained. The rangers are friendly. Apgar village and the lake are a nice walk away.

Camp rangers are super friendly and helpful. Needed something and they brought help from their campsite so we could eat our food. They do an excellent job of maintaining the campground.

Camp hosts were kind and knowledgeable, rangers were helpful as well. We loved how spacious the sites were. Easily bikeable into the village ans visitor’s center.
