Enjoyed our stay. Lake McDonald is a beautiful backdrop. I wish we had been able to stay longer.

The camp sites were comfortable & sufficient in size. The bathrooms were in need of some care but functional. The hosts were friendly & helpful.

Apgar is a very nice campground we drove through but had decided to stay in Whitefish another day because we rented E-bikes in whitefish for the next day and it was not convenient to move the camper to Apgar and then have to go back to Whitefish in the Morning to get the bikes and then also return them later. so we told the Ranger we were not checking in. We made this decision too late to cancel.

Loved the flush toilets and running water. The roads were in very good shape. Campground was clean and tidy. Good experience.

We reserve spot 45 and I think that was a good spot. It was near the showers and bathrooms. It wasn’t a far walk to the lake. He must first park at your site and then go to the Ranger station at the front to check in. The showers can get crowded at time so I recommend going earlier versus later. It is quite slippery so be careful. We were very worried about bears, but luckily no bears came. We carry bear spray and bear horn with us at all times. It was a very lovely place and we would definitely go here again. I wish we had more time so we could’ve explore the little town that was nearby in the Apgar campground area. My recommendation is till they spend two nights here.

Clean, level and shaded camp sites. Signage is appropriate to keep campers informed and safe: bathrooms clean; Rangers very friendly and knowledgeable.

Online reservation was straightforward. Upon arrival check-in was easy and the ranger was helpful with information. Nothing one can do about the weather and it rained my entire stay, but it sure would have helped if the one possible shower had been functional. Tent area was level, smooth, and well-boxed out and mostly higher than ground around it which helped to not get water pooling or running under my tent, plus I tarped the tent. Fire rings and picnic table all good. Bear lockers are only near the restrooms---not convenient unless your site is near them, and bear was seen in camp one of the days.

Good experience other than 2 of my 4 days had steady rain. There were bear concerns but I really didn’t get any details.
