We were not aware that we needed the timed park entrance reservations with our stay at Apgar. We thought that once we were in the park that would not be an issue, unfortunately that was not the case. Also, only three showers for all the camp sites meant LONG lines at times. Bathrooms did not have shelves for placement of hygiene items and only had cold water. Not complaining, just stating facts.

We enjoyed our stay at Apgar campground. It was nice to be able to walk from our camp straight to Lake Macdonald. The check in for the road to the sun is right next to the campground, so if you have your reservations for the road to the sun, you are immediately at the entrance as soon as you leave the campground. You can also walk a short trail to the Apgar Visitor center to catch the free shuttle to go on the road to the sun. One downside to the campground is that they only have three showers for the whole campground, so there is often a rather long line for a short unless you wait until very late at night.

Nice spot loop D is best in my opinion
It’s furthest out.

I had a great 5 night stay at Apgar. The whole campground was very clean and quiet. There were plenty of bathrooms and the showers were a very nice surprise! I do wish there was a dish washing station or two, as washing dishes at camp and then driving the grey water to the dump station was an ordeal. I would definitely stay here again!
