Beautiful campground, and great location for driving the going-to-the-sun road. Condition of the grounds is excellent. Bathrooms are typically basic for national parks. The loops are one directional for traffic (S to N) so the pull-through sites on the inside of each loop are “backwards” for most campers. Not a huge deal but if you want to get the camp side facing your picnic table, you’ll have to have a small turning radius. A bit of cell signal near the lake, but none in the campground itself.

The site was very small which I expected however the description said you can have 2 tents but only had one tent pad. Therefore our 2nd tent had to be placed in the driveway of the site which was less than ideal. Had a hard time sleeping due to teenagers running around, yelling and being very loud. There was no camp host on duty to enforce rules and clearly their parents didnt either. The bathroom only had one working sink which was doable until a camper decided to essentially take a bath in it. Overall the campground was decent. The bigger issue is dealing with peoples’ lack of respect for those around them, which unfortunately is to be expected when visiting a national park.

The campground is beautiful and well maintained. The bathrooms were very clean but bring your own hand soap. You can easily walk to the visitor’s center, amphitheater, village, and lake! The only drawback was the showers. There were three available for 200 campsites and the floors were always wet and filthy where you need to get dressed.

Absolutely love this campground. The sites are beautiful and tucked into the forest right next to Lake Macdonald. A quick walk down the bike path to the visitor center and Apgar village. 2 Miles down the trail through the ferny forest to West Glacier for groceries, restaurants and shops. We can not wait to go back.

The campground has a stunning view, clean facilities, and very friendly staff! The village is easily accessible and the campground has great talks at the amphitheater. Would definitely recommend this campground! We loved the campground, but would recommend staying on the East side of the park if you plan to spend most of the time hiking; we found ourselves driving a lot to make it to Glacier's iconic hikes.

We were grateful to get a couple of last minute nights at Apgar Campground. The location on the west side of glacier is great! Walking distance to Apgar Village and Lake McDonald. The campground is beautiful -- good mix of trees even though camp sites are kinds of close. The bathrooms were good and clean. Hosts were friendly. Rangers were on hand at check in to make sure everyone was bear aware. Highly recommend camping in the park!
