Campground is on the lake and close to Apgar Visitor Center thus very conveniently located for entering Glacier on Going to the Sun Road. Campsite was flat and campground/bathrooms were clean. We did not preplan but was able to make a late reservation for Labor Day. We were able to get a campsite at St. Mary's (first come first serve) for the rest of our trip. We stayed at Glacier until September 11th, the date there are no longer vehicle reservations for the Going to the Sun Road. On the 11th the traffic was backed up for 2.5 mi to get through the West entrance check point to show your park pass. We are so glad we visited the park before the vehicle reservations were lifted, they definitely serve a purpose.

Nice spot. I liked last year when they had drive up people manning the entrance and the pass system they had. It seems so impersonal with no forest service people helping with the check in.

We absolutely loved this campground. We were very happy with our site, A17. However, it was very tight! Typically we see that sites can accommodate much longer vehicles than the site states. This one though was a challenge to get in and our trailer was the size stated. There is a poorly placed post that doesn’t allow for easy access to the pull through. We ended up backing in. Spotting was important. Hopefully the park will move the one post that is out of line with the others at this site. Other sites seemed very spacious, but I didn’t check how it compared to what was listed on rec.gov
The only showers for this campground were in this loop which was great for us. The other loops are closer to the lake, or next to a creek, but we like the convenience of the showers being close. Showers were good, but with the open vents in the door/window, it was cold some days! One night the showers were out of order.
Camp hosts were very on top of rules.
We loved our time in Glacier.
We had cell signal in the loop, were able to search things, and make calls. We did not attempt to stream anything (or any major data use).

I just love fish creek. It is the best place to camp in glacier. Convenient to the lake McDonald area and also east to hope on the road to Polebridge. The trees are gorgeous and the ground is soft with pine needles covering it. The sites are spacious and private.
