I expected this to be fairly crowded, high usage campground with possible noise issues and other common problems but I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. It was not overcrowded at all despite the park being quite busy. The facilities were in good shape even at end of season and the campers all respected quiet hours and behaved well. The site I had was sufficiently removed from others to provide a measure of privacy yet reasonably close to rest rooms and water supply. The staff with whom I had contact were all polite and cheerful and very pleasant to talk to. Overall a very satisfactory experience, better than I had anticipated!

Sites are decent size, and might be somewhat close but have trees to help maintain separation. Bath house was fine, firewood needs to be brought in from apgar or west glacier.

Glacier National Park is one of my all-time favorite places to spend the summer, and Fish Creek Campground is one of the reasons I keep coming back. I’ve been visiting Glacier for over 40 years, and Fish Creek remains a favorite place to stay.
The campground has so much to offer. The campsites are clean, well maintained, and beautifully situated along the west side of Lake McDonald. The restrooms and shower house are consistently clean, which makes a big difference after long days of hiking. There’s also a short and scenic hike nearby to Rocky Point that’s perfect for stretching your legs and soaking in the views.
One of the highlights of our stay was being able to listen to Rob Quist and Jack Gladstone perform in the amphitheater in the evening—an unforgettable Glacier Park experience that added something truly special to our trip.
Last summer, Fish Creek was especially meaningful to me when I served as a trail angel for my sister and brother-in-law. When they encountered a lost hiker and notified me, the park rangers responded quickly and professionally. Their care and efficiency were impressive and reassuring, and it reinforced my appreciation for the people who help keep this park safe.
Fish Creek Campground is also conveniently located just a mile from Apgar Village, where you’ll find gift shops, restaurants, water activities, and even a beautiful venue for weddings. It’s the perfect balance of peaceful camping with easy access to amenities.
Fish Creek Campground truly captures the magic of Glacier National Park. For anyone looking for a clean, scenic, well-run campground with incredible surroundings and a strong sense of community, Fish Creek is hard to beat.

Prettiest place on earth! We could only get a spot for one night as it is also the busiest place on earth. Loved kayaking on Lake MacDonald and soaking up the sun. The ice cream at Eddy’s in Apgar is amazing. Hope to stay longer on our next visit.

The campground was right on lake McDonald, which was gorgeous. The facilities had everything we needed too!

Loved this campground. Clean and very easy to walk the trails around the campground. Sites are spacious enough for a family of 4 with a big tent. Clean bathrooms. My kids loved the evening shows by the very talented, educated staff. Campground at the very bottom of the "going to the sun" road. Overall we were very happy and will be camping there again.

The proximity to the lake was amazing, just about 50 short steps and you are at the waters edge with absolutely gorgeous views. On the other side it was a close proximity to the bathrooms which is good for convenience but also makes the noise and traffic busier. The site itself was pretty good, small pad for a tent, ours was a little larger for our family so we had to pitch it in the "driveway" where a car would normally pull through. Plenty of trees to hang hammocks on though. There are only showers available in one building of one loop and two of the four were out of service so there were long lines if you wanted one, otherwise no lines at 5am when I went. Beautiful campground though, would stay here again if I had the opportunity.
