Fish Creek Campground

Great campsites, facilities were just what we needed, location was excellent, and the rangers did their jobs well!

Such a great campground. The ranger people were so helpful and kind.

Cozy campground with sites tucked in pine trees. We felt our location was private even though other sites were close by. There are showers at Loop A only. We also stayed at Many Glacier and Apgar and liked this one the best.

Incredible campsite, well-maintained but still a little farther away from most crowds.

Wonderful for me in A27 for my Toyota Corolla and cot tent. I was there for 8 days, doing major hikes on three of the days and having recovery days in between. I drove into nearby towns for laundry. The two minute walk to the Lake McDonald picnic/beach area was fantastic and I went "swimming" on three different hot days. I had trees and the picnic table to tie off to for my over-tent rain tarp. The picnic table and site was clean. The showers and restroom areas were cleaned at least once per day, but cleanliness at any moment was subject to the members of the public that got there just before I did, but most people were respectful .... I'd say 80% of my entries into the building it was clean.... only so much the Forest Service can be do to keep it clean ... mostly dependent on us, the public! On days I was hiking, I either drove and parked my car at the Apgar Visitors' Center shuttle stop to catch the first 7AM shuttle to Logan Pass or I drove the three hours to many Glacier trailhead. Thank you to the Forest Service and the US and State Governments for keeping this type of wonderful inexpensive option open to those that work to be lucky enough to get a reservation.

Fish creek was awesome - close to Lake McDonald where we went stargazing at night (could be dangerous?) and it was a large campsite with mostly cleared ground. Washrooms, fresh water, bear food bins all easily found.

Giving this campground 4 stars instead of 5 because of the physical sites themselves and the showers. We stayed in the C loop. Chose this loop because it doesn't accommodate larger RVs and tends to be quieter (we are tent campers). While this was true (quieter, no generators), it is a hilly loop and many of the sites are small pull-throughs on both sides of the road. It also is pretty well forested so there are not any sights but does offer good shade if it's hot out. Some of the sites would not be great for tents because of how tight they are and the hills (true of site C127 which barely fit our small tent and was still very close to the fire ring). The bathrooms are adequate however, there are only 4 showers for a 200+ sized campground and they are in loop A which is a bit of a walk from C or D loops. If you opt to drive to the showers, there is no where to park nearby and you have to park at the amphitheater and walk.

The bonus: great location! You couldn't get any closer to Apgar visitor center which makes it easy to catch the shuttles in the early morning or beat the traffic coming into the park. Campground was clean and C loop was quiet.

We enjoyed our time here and it was close to the lake too!

This is a great place to be if you want to do GTTR. Very quiet campground and bathrooms were clean. Always order this campground over Apgar.
