Thoroughly enjoyed the time at the cabin. However, I would warn others that the creek channel has changed at the trailhead which makes for a challenging creek crossing or a significant wade.

What a fantastic gem of a spot. Very well maintained cabin in a beautiful setting. Plenty of dry firewood, very nice wood stove and propane cook stove, plenty of pots and pans and other cooking utensils, chairs, sleeping pads, and games! We will most definitely be back. What a fantastic gem of a spot. Very well maintained cabin in a beautiful setting. Plenty of dry firewood, very nice wood stove and propane cook stove, plenty of pots and pans and other cooking utensils, chairs, sleeping pads, and games! We will most definitely be back. From Wisdom, travel west on Highway 43 for about 16 miles to the May Creek Campground. Guests can park in the plowed parking area near the highway at the entrance to the campground during the winter. During the summer months, follow the campground road to the fence at the south end of the campground. Parking is available in the meadow just west of the campground.
From the campground, hike or ski south along the marked May Creek Trail, crossing a small bridge. About a quarter-mile past the bridge, the May Creek Trail intersects with the May Creek Ridge Trail; stay on the May Creek Trail and continue south for about two miles. The cabin is located on the edge of a large meadow, in the trees, on the east side of the creek. Large, blue diamond stakes mark the trail across the meadow to the cabin. Maps of the area may be purchased by calling the Wisdom Ranger District.
The May Creek Campground is accessible via Highway 43, which is approximately 16 miles west from Wisdom.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- The cabin is locked and the padlock code will be shared upon reservation confirmation.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Utilities
- Guests need to bring their own water.
Fires & fuel
- No propane fuel will be provided.
- Firewood is available only from October 1 to June 15.
- Do not move firewood; obtain it near your destination.
Safety & rules
- Familiarize yourself with safety regarding bears, water, and weather hazards.
- Cell phone service is not available at the cabin.
- Guests must pack out all garbage and food.
- Be aware of hantavirus exposure risk when visiting remote cabins.
- Visitor groups must clean and disinfect the cabin after use.
