The only negative comment I can think of is that lots of times we were there the grass was not mowed and it’s such a nice clean place to camp and the tall grass was kind of a bummer. We love Methodist cove and we go there frequently and usually stay 4-5 days at a time. It’s very peaceful and pretty and your not cramped in a tiny area.

The only negative comment I can think of is that lots of times we were there the grass was not mowed and it’s such a nice clean place to camp and the tall grass was kind of a bummer. We love Methodist cove and we go there frequently and usually stay 4-5 days at a time. It’s very peaceful and pretty and your not cramped in a tiny area.

There are a few sites which over-look the lake & are on the "lake side" of the loop road. If you can get these I would highly recommend it. Our site was fine & the price was great. We were just passing through from PA to Colorado and so didn't spend much time there, but we did have our kayaks along and some spare time to kayak the lake. Unfortunately there is no convenient place to launch a paddle craft (the lake banks are steep), thus the 4 stars. If you trailer a boat, however you are in-luck as they do have a nice launch facility for that (double ramps), but it was steep and very busy while we were there.

General
- Only one camping unit allowed per site
- All campers must check in when arriving at park
- Maximum of six people allowed per site
- An attendant is on duty during the peak season of May through September
- Secure coolers and boating equipment each night to prevent thefts
- Off-road vehicles are not permitted
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
