Methodist Cove

We had a good time, we love coming there. If there would be one suggestion, wish that you could put in the Beach area so you can go sit down by the water some on like a Sandy Beach or something because the beach area is your way across the lake and we would like to stay by our campsite more and have a Beach area. Don't know if that's possible at all it's just a suggestion.

Our old spot was booked and pick a different one!! Like our old but really liked the new spot. Think we will keep this spot. Sad the day we left they closed Methodist Cove boat ramp. We had used it all weekend. Love this lake and meet new people from Holdrege NE!!!

Beautiful spot. Clean bathrooms & showers.

Site was great, volunteer that signed us in was fantastic, the laundry was a big plus as well.
5 stars is not enough it deserves at least 10

Beautiful campsites very well spaced. Sunsets were awesome. Looked like fishing was good (we didn't have a license, but watched others haul in some "wipers" The showers were very good, clean with good pressure and many to choose from. The grounds were well maintained. Garbage area was handy and clean around it. Dump station was clean and had potable water. We rode our e-bikes along the very well maintained path into Alma and enjoyed going up and down the streets admiring the well kept houses and beautiful yards. We enjoyed our time so much and have this spot as our new standard that we hope for whenever or wherever we camp.

Level campsites, easy access.

Bad site if it rains I guess. At least the low spot isn't on the side you want to exit your camper. We got here and found plenty of water left from a recent rainfall on the left side (driver side). We had to move more to the right (passenger side) to avoid the soft ground and that put us farther from the sewer connection than I would have liked, but it worked reasonably well.
A common theme with many of the the COE sites we've used is oddly positioned utilities and badly negative slope sites. Check out other sites I've reviewed.

Methodist is the best camp ground at Halrn county reservoir it would be nice to have more electric stalls and a few first come first server there plenty of room and stop closing the ones on the east end fix them up.

I would rate it excellent if I knew all dogs at campsites are on leashes, during our visit at Methodist cove on Friday night there was a dog fight, one dog was dead and the other I couldn't tell but very sad, even knowing it was their own two dogs in that group, just thinking it could have been someone else animal. I know there are others with Golden Retrievers out too, and they are good dogs, but just never know when they can turn too not have them on leashes. But overall love the lake! 😊 The lady's that do cleanup do a very excellent job! Very Friendly
