Echo Bay Campground is located in the northern end of the park along the Overton Arm of Lake Mead. It’s open year-round and features paved sites that can accommodate tents or RVs, along with tables, fire pits and/or grills. Restrooms and water spigots are located throughout the campsite. Temperatures usually surpass 100F (37C) degrees June-August. In May and September, daytime highs are around 90F (32C). October-April, temperatures are much cooler. Lows can dip to freezing temps December-February. The area averages 4 inches of rain each year. Some sites have views of the lake, and vegetation provides some shade.

I will never ever camp at echo Bay again I was scared I heard donkeys in the middle of the night hyenas laughing and coyotes everywhere around me it was the most horrible frightening experience I've had camping ever in my life I will never ever go back to echo Bay and I would love it if you would maybe give me a free stay at a different campsite because I had the worst scariest time at echo Bay. I would not recommend going there at all at least not going by yourself and I wouldnt recommend going there " at all "even if you're with somebody. those noises I heard woke me up in the middle of the night. Sounds of loud donkeys, hyenas and coyotes ....scary . Very creepy...
It was a good campground for late season camping. Be prepped for the wild donkeys. They may or may not keep you up at night. We had 28’ 5th wheel for some of the sites that would have been tight. It fit well in the site we were in. The echo bay maintenance guy was really helpful. We would camp here again.
Just a quick stop over, the restroom was clean, flushing toilets, running water
( bring your own TP) the sites were nice, picnic table and fire pit, sites were close together but lots of bushes to separate the sites. A convenient store within walking distance was a nice surprise.
27 was a smaller spot. Spots are close together so you will hear all your neighbors. Site has bathrooms but were not upkept well. Broken toilets and no toilet paper. Scenery was OK. Beautiful night skies. The appeal is driving down to the lake (will be a longer walk). Swimming available at the lake.
Requested a specific site to do astrophotography, but when I got there someone was in my space. Luckily was not busy so took another site for 2 nights which no one claimed. Could have been a problem if it was crowded. Also no ranger was available and 2nd bathroom was locked.
Echo Bay Campground is accessible via State Route 167, approximately 24 miles from Interstate 11. Nearby Boulder City provides access to U.S. Route 93.
Policies & Rules
General
Lake Mead NRA does require an entrance fee in addition to camping fees. Entrance fees can be purchased on rec.gov or at entrance station locations.• Site capacity maximum is eight persons and four tents or one camping unit (motorhome/camp trailer).## Reservations are required for all sites through this reservation system and can be made the same day as arrival. Cash is not accepted, and sites can only be booked through rec.gov.• Each site can have a maximum of two motorized vehicles, four motorcycles or a combination thereof if towed or carried on or by a camper. • Motor vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only and may not be driven onto the dirt or across irrigation ditches. • The campground can accommodate RVs, but there are no hookups. • Camping is limited to a total of 90 days at Lake Mead within any consecutive 12-month period.• Camping is limited to 30 days in any developed campground.• All trash must be disposed of in appropriate trash or recycling receptacles. • Pets must be kept on a leash not to exceed 6-feet in length and should not be left unattended. Never leave your pet in a closed vehicle. Pet excrement must be disposed of in trash containers.• Please do not feed wildlife. Wild animals can become dependent on handouts of food and lose their fear of humans. This is dangerous for the wildlife and you. • Trees can provide refreshing shade and a windbreak for campers. It is illegal to cut or damage any tree in a national park.• Fires are permitted in grills, fire rings, portable stoves, portable barbecues and portable fireplaces in all campgrounds.• Fires should not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished with water, doused and stirred. • A campground host may be available onsite to offer assistance. Wireless internet (WIFI) is not available at any campgrounds managed by Lake Mead National Recreation Area~ Phone service works best by the Echo Bay Ranger Station. Other parts of the area have limited to no cell service~
