I always have a great experience when visiting this area. I did some multipitch climbing on my last visit and had a absolute blast.

It was very hard to get a campsite because of high demand, yet every day there were sites that went unused because of no-shows that did not cancel. We feel this due, at least in part, because of the rec.gov policy to charge for making a cancellation. A change in policy that rewarded people who make timely cancellations and penalized those who don't would probably make for more efficient use of the facilities. The camp hosts would have to record the occupancy, but all of the hosts we have talked to are very frustrated dealing with unhappy travelers who they have to turn away while campsites go unused.

This Campground needs to be visited during cooler weather. The setting is absolutely beautiful and the Campground was very quiet. Just down the street from the 13 mile dive at Red Rock National conservation area. You must take the drive. If you are a rock climber or a biker this place is for you, with the great 13 mile dive that is perfect for biking and there is rock climbing and hiking in the park area as well.

Beautiful site and area. Except for the BRIGHT night sky, you couldn’t tell you’re 1/2 an hour outside of Vegas. Only complaint is how poorly signed the access roads are to find your site. It takes a couple of laps to figure it out.
