While I never saw the Camp Host, someone is doing a great job! The bathrooms were the cleanest of any Nat’l Forest CG I’ve ever seen.

First time visiting the Lamoille Canyon and staying at Thomas Canyon Campground. We were in awe driving in and really appreciated the rare snow melt that made the creeks turn to rivers and the local flora bloom! Camp hosts were full of local knowledge and eager to help. Our experience c e made some great memories. We can't wait to go back!

I was astonished by the extraordinary views of the soaring cliffs, along side of and above Thomas Canyon campground. There was a flowing stream near the campground that offered very pleasant sounds during the evening hours. The camp host was very diligent in providing a watchful eye for all campers. The restrooms were clean with sufficient amount of toilet tissues available. Drinkable water was available for those campers who chose to fill their water containers from the spigot at the campground. There is an adventurous and arduous trail heading south and up to the base up Snow Lake Peak. Because of the extensive winter storms of 2022-2023, there were two substantial snow fields that confronted one as one walk towards Snow Lake Peak in July 2023. Once a person has arrived at the base of Snow Lake Peak, you are greeted to the sight of cascading waterfalls & a modest sized Alpine Lake. There many fly fishermen fishing along the stream. I recommend Thomas Canyon Campground for campers.

Take I-80 to any Elko exit and head south to Idaho Street. Turn south on 12th Street (from the east) or on 5th Street (from the west), to State Route 227. Travel 25 miles on SR 227 to Forest Road 660 (Lamoille Canyon Scenic Byway). Travel 8 miles on FR 660 to the campground.
The campground is accessible via I-80, with the nearest exits in Elko, followed by a southbound route on State Route 227 for approximately 25 miles. The final approach is via Forest Road 660, which connects to Lamoille Canyon.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
