Thomas Canyon Campground is a beautiful place to camp. The sites are secluded because of the vegetation. Hiking up to Lamoille Lake the flowers were beautiful. Will definitely go there again.

The campground is not kept up. Absolutely no shade in heat of summer in many sites. No host present when it says online there is a host.

I love Lamoille Canyon. It is a beautiful place with killer geology. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the campground is sort of weird and not set up really for tents. The tent pads are small, and they seem to be gravel covering asphalt. So you can't get the tent pegs in. There is also little shade. There is also no campground host. I miss the old days when there was a friendly retired person holding down the fort. A lovely man called Gary did come by to sell wood which was nice.
The other thing that gets tired is that all the sites are booked out, but people don't show. Recreation.gov kinda ruined camping that way. But as a result, it was very quiet.

The fire pit was full of ashes, there was trash left by the table. It wasn’t swept the table was falling apart. It’s not the same as when there is a camp host to keep things up.

We loved everything about Thomas Canyon campgrounds. The pictures don't even come close to doing the beauty experienced justice! My husband was very impressed with this campground and he is very particular. We chose a campsite that is pretty close to the bathroom, which was helpful with small children. The canyon is delightful and we only wish we had booked a longer trip to explore more of it. It was truly spectacular in beauty and simplicity and just what we were looking for. Campsites were clean and had plenty of privacy. I think a little bit more brush could've been cut back to enlarge the campsites a tiny bit, but it wasn't enough of a bother and we definitely plan to come back next time we go to Nevada.

The whole campground appears to be well kept. In general, it was a very chilled environment, not very noisy and everyone seemed very respectful of other.

The campground is accessible via I-80, with the nearest exits in Elko, followed by a southbound route on State Route 227 for approximately 25 miles. The final approach is via Forest Road 660, which connects to Lamoille Canyon.
