Many appreciated the secluded campsites and beautiful hiking trails, notably the one leading to Lamoille Lake. However, some noted the lack of a camp host this year, resulting in maintenance issues and a need for improved care of the grounds and bathrooms.

We ended up not staying in campground as the weather was very poor with snow & ice on the road. We decided it was too dangerous to continue up canyon with our RV, especially as there is no cell service for help. We ended up staying in a RV Park in Elko.

What a beautiful area - the Lamoille Valley. We only wish we had more time to spend. Will return to hike the Canyon trail to some of the alpine lakes.
The camp hosts were helpful, giving us tips on where to hike and other info about the area.

We love Thomas Canyon - it is such a gem. Very clean restrooms. The site hosts are very friendly and helpful.

The campground was very clean, spaces are nicely spread out (a few are closer together but most have a good amount of distance between them). Bathrooms were very clean and camp hosts were very helpful. The hiking trail right out of camp was beautiful and well maintained (I'd say moderate the farther you go). We went in early June and lots of water in the river and waterfalls everywhere. Just a lovely weekend and we definitely want to go back as there are plenty of sites and hikes nearby.

The campground was very clean, spaces are nicely spread out (a few are closer together but most have a good amount of distance between them). Bathrooms were very clean and camp hosts were very helpful. The hiking trail right out of camp was beautiful and well maintained (I'd say moderate the farther you go). We went in early June and lots of water in the river and waterfalls everywhere. Just a lovely weekend and we definitely want to go back as there are plenty of sites and hikes nearby.

Take I-80 to any Elko exit and head south to Idaho Street. Turn south on 12th Street (from the east) or on 5th Street (from the west), to State Route 227. Travel 25 mi on SR 227 to Forest Road 660 (Lamoille Canyon Scenic Byway). Travel 8 mi on FR 660 to the campground.
The campground is accessible via I-80, with the nearest exits in Elko, followed by a southbound route on State Route 227 for approximately 25 miles. The final approach is via Forest Road 660, which connects to Lamoille Canyon.
