I’m hesitant to provide my true opinion out of stinginess- I would like to keep this great place a secret. We loved it - beautiful, great hosts, clean, lots to do within an hours drive or hike, peaceful and more.

A beautiful area with a well maintained campground. Plenty of space and nice walks. The only downside is the campers who bring loud generators. Just turn off your Xbox and enjoy the lake for a few hours. The campground should consider not allowing these loud generators. Other than that, a really great time! 5/7 would come again.

Beautiful campground with (generally) spacious sites. Excellent playground with a 1/4 mile track around it for the runners. But the sunsets! Make sure you have your chair ready to sit and enjoy the splendor of view at the end of the day. Good access to Abiquiu with world famous Bode's market and gas station, 2 places for ice cream and a hot day, and the Farmer's Market in the post office parking lot on Thursdays at 4 (2022). Be sure to get some of Guadalupe's homemade tamales! About an hour from Santa Fe or Taos but what would you need in a city with sunsets like this? Abiquiu Lake waterline was pretty low. Access to the water for watercraft was available at the boat ramp but the rocky shores were more challenging otherwise. Get your Georgia O'Keeffe - museum in Abiquiu, though kind of pricey - on and stay awhile.

A very beautiful & tranquil place. It is definitely a place with will visit again. Lots of hiking trails. Boat ramp makes for easy kayak, paddle board launching. The Park Rangers were friendly and helpful. They did frequent runs through the grounds. Here is information about the Pedernal Loop sites (Electric/Water loop). See picture identifying the sites.
2, 11, 12, 14: Good level site with room for RV and tent
13, 15 Very good level site for RV and tow vehicle
1 Very good level site, private with panoramic view of lake and mountains. Isolated from other campers. Parking the tow vehicle is tight if you have a
30' or greater RV. Longest walk to the bath house.
A1 & A2 have very good level site with great views and access to bath house for physically challenged
3, 5, 7 are the least desirable either due to RV pad or location of picnic table to RV Pad.
9, 10 Are pull off the road and not the traditional P/T sites You are just parked on side of campground road. The view is the side of a small hill. Easy access to
vault toilet and bathhouse is close by.
For those with children sites 11-15 are ideal. They are right near the play ground. The play ground is recessed below line of sight from the camp sites. Therefore, the view of the lake and mountains are not blocked by play ground equipment. This makes them very accessible for the children but out of sight and sound from the sites. Park Rangers were very helpful and friendly. We camped at Riana Abiquiu Lake in a Fifth Wheel.
