Enjoyed staying here and walking along the path. Have been to craters of the moon in Idaho and did not enjoy it near as much as valley of fires!

Beautiful park! In great condition with a lovely views and walking trail over the lava fields. The camp hosts were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Restrooms in great condition. The visitor center was not open (I think due to staffing issues). Would definitely recommend this campground!

My spot was private, shaded, quiet. What’s not to like immensely. I enjoyed my time. But we did explore the surrounding areas a lot because there’s not a lot to do in this particular recreational area. There is a horseshoe pitch area.

We arrived on a very windy day which can be common at that site. The sites are pull-through which is nice, but take more leveling than most (this is mentioned on the reservation site). The sites are well spaced and look over the valley. The nature trail is worth taking and is now completely paved (one source said it was paved only part way). There are vault toilets but also a spacious Restroom facility with showers. Overall, it was a good place to stay over night.

Even though the weather was not perfect, we enjoyed the location, our site #6, the views, the walkways in the lava fields and the facilities at the campground. We will be back.
