Lovely campsite, tent pitches are large and private. A little walk to the main shower facilities but they were clean, spacious and one of the best we had seen in a state park. Great sunset views if you climb to the view point. The short hike from the campsite is worth a visit too. Only booked one night but ended up staying two as it was so nice.

Valley of the fires campground was exceptional. The campground host Daniel was extremely helpful and super friendly. He not only saw that we had everything we needed but provided some information on the area that was helpful. Look forward to going back again

The office and bookstore were closed, with no notice on the website. The website would not accept my golden age passport. No site maps or hiking maps available. The campsite was nice.

Been going to this campground for many years and often several times a year. We love the views. It seems the primary visitors to this campground are quite and keep to themselves. The trail through the malpais is a relaxing and enjoyable walk. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The camp host personnel have always been friendly and helpful. Our favorite sites are 19, 15, 7 and 3.
