Well, usually it’s great but the toilet by us was closed so we had to walk 100 yards to the next one. Also, we always have to clean out the fire pits to have a fire, they are always so full of ash and in previous years they were cleaned out before we arrived. I’m sure it’s the usual anymore, no help, etc.

The bathrooms were filthy, and no one cleaned them while we were there. One bathroom was "out of order". We suspect it needs to be pumped because the one closest to our site was almost full. Where was the host? We saw one person make an occasional drive by for the purpose of changing reservation tags. The host did not walk through sites when vacated. Our fire pit was 3/4 full. Most of the time the host was absent. A sign posted said the host was off duty Tuesday and Wednesday. We were there Thursday through Sunday.

The newbie camp hosts, Lucas and Christine were the highlight of the stay. These campground should probably have 2 camp hosts and the Forest Service is probably not providing all of the necessary resources (maintenance and Law Enforcement Officers) that would help camp hosts. But the new camp hosts really put forth great effort to make improvements with Reservation Signs and keeping restrooms stocked with TP and keeping the campgrounds looking good, etc. The Forest Service could improve the unleashed dog issues a great deal if there were signs posted about having dogs leashed at all times and if the Forest Service would provide some resources to enforce the dog leash rules. Overall, this has been one of our favorite campgrounds and it was a great stay.

Always love this campground. The sites are a decent space apart, and clean. The table in this site is in dire need of repair though as one of the top boards is totally rotted out on one side. The vault toilets were not cleaned as well as they usually are and are all full. Aside from that, it was a great stay and beautiful location.

Camp site 26 loop 2 was tucked nicely against a rock face. It was a great spot for my one night trip. I was able to find 2 trees to set up my hammock and really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. I was able to text without much service difficulties but was unable to send pictures.

The campground itself is wonderful. The only thing that ruined my stay was that there were several campsites with lots of kids nearby and they were running around screaming long after I wanted to go to bed.

I have stayed at this campground twice and enjoy its location and relative quiet. There are trash containers, clean pit toilets, and drinking water provided. The nights i was there were the nights off for the camp host, so i did not see them. We took a trail out to the edge of a canyon and i believe this trail eventually connects with the one that leads to Jemez Falls. On our second night there was a hail storm around 530pm (in June) , so be aware that during summer months the weather will usually lead to thunderstorms almost daily and you could be in for some lightning and light flooding. Wasn't too cold and there are plenty of trees to provide shade during the warm day (anything over 75 at 8,000 ft feels pretty warm.)
