First, the aroma of the tall pines is wonderful.
Thus is the best USFS campground we’ve visited: clean, quiet, good amenities such as water and elegant level sites…

The camp ground is awesome and the hosts were very helpful. However if you book space #9 the pad is at an incline and you’ll have a heck of a time getting level if you have a trailer. We ended up moving our 25 foot trailer to another spot in the campground that had a cancellation. We were about to just go home!!!!

What a beautiful campground! Clean and well-laid out. Fantastic views. I was in Space 10 which was nice and secluded, though some on the other side of the campground road were even nicer with terrific views. While it was a little noisy at times (mostly when folks were arriving and trying to park their rigs) a short walk down the hill drowned all that out. (The sites were also close to the main road which had enough traffic to be annoying at times.)
There is a very nice, wheelchair accessible walking path that runs along the creek. There are multiple footpaths running from the walking path to the creek's edge. Because of how the light changes throughout the day, you can go for several hikes through the property that will seem new each time. If you want a longer hike without driving somewhere, there is access to a property across the road that is partially private property, but as long as you're respectful, you're welcome to hike around.
The campground could make a great base camp for excursions to other trailheads, the Valles Caldera, or Jemez Springs if you want to do the hot springs or grab a beer and some pizza.
The campground is also very close to Amanda's store if you need supplies, and they have free wifi there so you can use wifi calling if you don't have service. (I have T-Mobile and had no service, but I think Verizon might be available.)
I was there on a solo trip, but plan to return with my wife next year. I was there in mid-September; nice warm days and chilly nights, perfect for a campfire.

You are not allowed to pitch your tent on the grass. You have to pitch it in gravel.

The campground and camp site were clean and nicely maintained. It was also easy to reserve. I wished there are more plug in sites

I was so happy to see wonderful hosts Rita & James back! Beautiful campground, lucky to have such a short drive. Our dogs romped happily on nearby hikes.

Wonderful time camping. Camped for the second time here a few weeks back. Camp hosts are WONDERFUL! They keep a very clean and quiet campground. Bathroom facilities are a pleasure to use. Fantastic campground all around, we will definitely be back.

Rita and James are exceptional camp hosts! Super duper friendly and knowledgeable with some wonderful recommendations for local eats and activities. The campground is small with only a handful of sites with hookups, no showers but located in a central area of the Jemez.
