Juniper campground has poor to no storm runoff. We camped on a night of hail/rain and the mud and water from the uphill campsites made our stay muddy and miserable.

It was a good site, quiet. There were some bees and mosquitoes. I shared a chicken leg and that seemed to keep them busy. Restrooms were clean. Cell service was "available" at campground kiosk.

With an online reservation and payment process there was no check-in other then the park entry check point and no receipt to display other then someone posting a reserved ticket on the site post, so that was different but easy. The campground is inside the monument so not sure if a ticket would be needed to exit and re-enter the grounds each time. It was convenient to drive or hike to the visitor center from camp, but parking at the center is limited and there is a shuttle from camp as well. It was very quiet and mostly empty the entire week as it was towards the end of the season, very relaxing. Los Alamos was interesting with the history and only 7 mi away.
