Don't miss the nearby Valles Caldera National Preserve and its visitor center (Volcanic Discovery Center). Don't be misled by the construction along the road to the Volcanic Discover Center. Keep going and you'll get to the center.

One of my favorite places to camp. Always well maintained and super clean. For me, the best part is the Frey trail to the dwellings that can be accessed from the campground. Thanks to all that maintain this special place.

It was a nice campground that wasn’t very crowded when we were there in March. Many of the drives were not very level. Some were pretty close to each other, but not many people there so pretty nice. Host was very nice. We liked loop B, but others not bad. Water in bathrooms (no showers), no water at campsites. I believe there were places to get drinking water but not to fill up tank due to running on wells and season very dry. There was a dump.
