Nice campground. Well maintained and clean.
Unfortunately, we chose this recreation area because we wanted to do some paddling. Hauled our kayaks and related gear from our home in southwest New Mexico, about a six-hour trip. Arrived to find that the water level in the reservoir was unusually high and access to the beach was blocked off. There was no place to launch our boats. Would have appreciated being informed about this before we reserved our campsites.

Beautiful place to spend time. The campground is clean and the sites level. The pavement is new and smooth and there are nice picnic tables with attractive awnings brass over them. Last, but not least, the bathrooms in the newer areas are very clean and have hot water.

It was a nice park. Have to watch when you book some has 15 amp breakers. The lake was up and was told at the gate not to let your pets drink the water due to bacteria. The bathhouse we camped at was not in working order had to go far away from our camp area to the bathroom and shower.

Site 57, best site in my opinion, basically by yourself. Site is on a slight slant but very doable. View of the sunset on passenger side of trailer.
Covered cement patio and table. Beautiful views of hills surrounding the park. Shower house nearest to Buffalo Loop was clean, but is shared with at least 2 other loops which is why it needs more TLC. We used the shower house nearest Ringtail Loop nicer less worn. WIFI - T Mobile was slow in the am but picked up speed in the afternoon. 5 bars at 4G. Laundry is less than 2 miles from park in Cochiti Town. Sante Fe is approx 20 miles north and Albuquerque is approx 40 miles south. Convenient store 2 miles away is very limited on items.
