Black Canyon Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it a favorite among visitors. Many enjoyed the peaceful setting, abundant wildlife, and proximity to Santa Fe, with ample hiking opportunities. However, the lack of water access and some maintenance issues have been noted as drawbacks.

This was by far one of the loveliest campsites we have stayed in. There was plenty of space between sites and the firepits with walled surround were fantastic. The tent pad was perfectly level and tucked away nicely. Our family of four would highly recommend it.

The campground host(ess) on duty was a "whack job"... she was rude... arrogant...and generally lacks the personality that becomes a campground host. If she is there on a future visit to Black Canyon, and I have a pre-paid reservation, I will ask her not to come around me, or my family. Worst encounter with a campground host, in MANY years of camping ! She should be banned from any future assignments.

Nice campground and helpful host. Toilets were beyond stinky so avoid a site next to them if possible.
