Lack of water has been an issue for years. We will look forward to the time it is resolved.

Black Canyon Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it a favorite among visitors. Many enjoyed the peaceful setting, abundant wildlife, and proximity to Santa Fe, with ample hiking opportunities. However, the lack of water access and some maintenance issues have been noted as drawbacks.

This is a well-run campground. The campsites are well maintained, and clearly marked for reservations and first-come, first-serve status.

Very nice, wooded, quiet campground only 7 mi from Santa Fe. It is on a hill and there are no hook ups, camp water or dump Station in May. When Hyde Memorial CG opens in June there is a dump Station. Site #17 was too tight to maneuver my 36' 5th wheel into. So we moved to #26, which was perfect. Lots of hilly hiking trails but not for beginners.
