We love site #23. Easy to back into and away from other sites.

Black Canyon Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained environment with clean facilities and friendly hosts, making it a favorite among visitors. Many enjoyed the peaceful setting, abundant wildlife, and proximity to Santa Fe, with ample hiking opportunities. However, the lack of water access and some maintenance issues have been noted as drawbacks.

Our site, #16, was very nice with easy back-in. There was plenty of room for our 25' Class C. The only issue we had was there is no water in the park due to infrastructure issues that are being worked on. So, there is no water available in the area. We were able to dump at the Hyde Memorial State Park dump station about 1/2 mi up the road. The rangers need to unlock the gate for you and the fee is $10. We would come back here because it is a beautiful, quiet campground and an easy drive into Santa Fe.

Nothing wrong at all with campground but our site was double booked! Thank goodness for the wonderful host who helped us get situated in a new spot! We had driven 9 hours and if turned away I am not sure what we would have done!

Nice secluded walking sites, camp host was great. Still don’t know why national parks won’t fix the water issues, lack of water for the past 5 years

A very nice campground. Clean. Feels very much in the remote forest for being so close to Sante Fe.
