Site 22 was excellent. Fairly flat, big enough for my 16’ camper. Lots of big pine trees and bushes. Good sense of separation of sites, even though they were fairly close to one another. The 7 mi trip up the road to the campground is windy but well-paved. Bathroom was clean.

Great campground… Would be even better if it had water. Just know that some of the sites are literally paved… It gives her a nice flat surface but feels a little less “camping”. It’s a great location for doing things in Santa Fe.

The campground looked great - but we were unable to stay there. Recreation.gov said our campsite was big enough for a 25 ft trailer, it sort of was, but the jack was right on the edge of the road and there was really no where to part my truck and no overflow parking, luckily there is some dispersed camping nearby (just below the Ski Resort).

Black Canyon is one of our favorite campgrounds. We visit here once a year.
The sites are spacious and a good distance from the other sites, the trees are nice shade cover and the road through the site allows for nice walks.
Even though it rained during each day, it was a nice retreat from the heat and noise in the city.
We will be visiting again next year.
